Rachel Baran

The work of Rachel Baran showcases a variety of imaginative and often surreal photographs that really are something to be marvelled at. She offers a sensitivity yet power to her subjects which evolves from the intricately layered understanding behind the lens, something that many maturer photographers cannot master. But it is the honesty of her photographs which really affects me, as her depictions of the mundane mean that we can connect to her work on a more profound level.

Much like writing is to me, Baran's photography is her own form of expression. Every conceptual piece offers the chance to recreate itself to reveal a new interpretation, a new concept.
